Catalytic applications of metal nanoparticles immobilized on the surface of graphene

Metal nanoparticles (M NPs) are particularly interesting in the field of catalysis because control of the size and stability allows the rationale design of highly active catalytic systems. One of the major drawbacks in the use of M-NPs in catalysis is the limited stability under reaction conditions.

In this talk, I will described our approach for increasing the stability of M-NPs starting from molecular complexes and using graphene as support. We discuss the advantages and limitations of graphene as support for metal complexes and metal nanoparticles and the implications in catalysis.1-4
